Noctilucent Clouds

Noctilucent clouds photographed from Edgware on 2005 June 14 22:00UT
By the time I took this photo they had faded from their earlier strong white against a dark blue sky at about 10 deg. elevation
Such clouds were widely observed over Europe on this date

Noctilucent clouds photographed from Edgware on 2005 June 19 22:30UT
They appeared as a "luminous" blue curtain with darker, clear sky above and below. They faded over the next hour as the sun sank further below the horizon.

NLC

2007 June 13 02:20. This is the brightest display of noctilucents I have seen from Edgware, Middlesex. The evidence from my observations over the last 3 years is that they are getting brighter and higher (in degrees of altitude) each year as seen from here. This display occupied 45 degreess of azimuth centred on NNE, and extended 10 to 35 degrees above the horizon. The brightest portion was the sharply-defined band seen in the centre (below), which was 30 degrees high. These NLCs were not rippled, as seen in previous years, but broad bands (type B). They were visible from about 02:00 to 0:3:30UT. Canon EOS 350D camera 800 ISO,  0.8s, 33mm FL
